Tomorrow Wednesday 1/22 is NTID day #5! Students should do their last choice board and send it in the next day of school.

FYI--Information I realized there were some errors on the flyers that came home. Valentine's Day Celebrations are Thursday, 2/13. Husky Leader of 2nd qtr for those students being recognized is 1/30 @2pm Ms. Lewis Also the blessing box has several bags in in. Please be careful if you are out and about.

Today, Thursday 1/16 is now an NTID day. students need to do their choice board and send in all materials the next day of school. We are also planning on putting some items in the blessing box later this morning if anyone is in need.

It is that time of year to look at WV Strawberry Festival Minor Court. Hard copies are coming home this evening but please look for this paper. It needs to be returned rather quickly. Please return to Ms. Lewis ASAP to get them sent in if interested.

Thursday 1/9 will be a NTID Day. Please see the pictures below or refer to the NTID folder that was sent home. Students will need to pick 1 activity from each subject to complete. You will circle the activity on you choice board and send it in the next school day with any other documentation. There are board for each grade level so please make sure younuse the appropriate one. There is also a directions page for PreK and another for K-5

Hey HES families!! We did something to try and help out for the next couple of days. We have put some food bags in the library book box outside of the school and at the community building in the blessing box. We ask that you only take what you need so it can help as many families as possible. Our next goal is to get our very own blessing box to be at school but wanted to offer something for now. We made 50 bags thanks to the HES staff and their families!!

Good evening families!!! As we look ahead to next week and students returning one thing coming up is our mid year IReady Diagnostic Assessment. Please see the attached flyer for some tips to do at home, testing tips to share with your student and testing schedule. While we are just coming back from break we are encouraging families to have discussions with your students about doing their best! We really want to see what our students can do to their best potential! Dis you know that by reading to your child every night even for 10 minutes can significantly benefit their development by improving their language skills, expanding their vocabulary, stimulating their imagination, fostering a love of reading, building a strong bond with you, promoting better sleep, and helping them develop empathy and critical thinking skills. We are planning a pep rally prior to testing to ecnourage students to do their best (weather pending) and a celebration rally to acknowledge those students who show growth!

As much as we love homemade treat for our adults, the items for students have to be store bought.

Happening this week! Monday-Movie Trip to Robinson Grand. This trip is for students only. We will be leaving school by 8:30. We will be watching The Grinch. It is Pajama Day! Tuesday- Christmas Around the World. This is for students only as well. Students will visit 7 countries learning about their holiday traditions and have a visit with a special someone 😉 It is Ugly Sweater Day! Wednesday-Wacky Christmas Accessory Day Wear any and all the accessories you have!

Part 2 of happening this week! Thursday-Dress Your Best Day! Christmas concert at 9am @WVWC Chapel. Concert will start promptly at 9. Parents should sit on the middle sections on the main floor. Students will be sitting in the wings. Students who want to participate in their class party must return with us to school. Class parties eill be in the afternoon at the school. K/1/2 @12-12:45 3/4/4 @1-1:45 PK @2-2:45

A couple of quick announcements and reminders. -1st grade and 4th grade shop tomorrow at the Santa store during recess. -birthday table for Dec is Thursday 12/12 -PreK has gingerbread activity Thursday @2 At this time due to lack of interest and sign ups, we are going to postpone our school having a Girl Scout Troop. The meeting scheduled for next week is cancelled. We will look at it again toward the end of Spring and into next year.

A couple reminders for things taking place this week! Tomorrow starts our Christmas dress up days. Monday-Candy Cane Day, wear red and white Tuesday-Grinchmas, wear green like the Grinch Wednesday- Cowboy Christmas, combine the two :) Thursday-Christmas Movie Day, dress as your favorite Christmas movie character Friday-Christmas Vacation Day, wear vacation clothes Tuesday-Friday we have the PTO Santa Store Thursday- birthday table for December Thursday- PreK only, gingerbread houses @2pm. This is for prek students and their families only. While we love having siblings attend, the supplies and the activity are planned for the prek class to enjoy.
