Hodgesville Elementary

Students were treated to about 10 - 15 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables from the WVU Extension Service, Mountaineer Food Bank, and the Pallotine Foundation of Buckhannon. Mindy Mall and several employees from the Upshur County Courthouse prepared bags of sweet potatoes, potatoes, plums, and Granny Smith apples for each student in our building. Students made their way with masks and social distancing to the cars to get a bag of food. The smiles and exclamations of excitement were heart warming. The students were given recipes to share with their parents when preparing the food. This is an awesome opportunity for our students to have fresh fruits and vegetables at home.
